About Me
CURRENT MISSION
get a feel for Kochi!
ABOUT ME
I am a University student in Victoria, British Columbia, and I am currently on an internship in Kochi, India.
I am very inspired by social activists with deeply spiritual/religious foundations. Gandhi, Thich Nhat Hanh, Vandana Shiva, M.L. King, Aung San Suu Kyi, Nelson Mandela, Sulak Sivaraksa, and others that - while not having reached the same degree of global influence - have influenced me.
I love meeting new people, getting 'out' into nature, and challenging myself with new experiences! Other than not eating meat, I am not a picky eater & will not turn anything down! There is not much out there that I don't enjoy eating. I am also a very, very heavy sleeper! I can sleep anywhere on anything and require nothing short of a bucket of ice cold water to wake me.
I am trying to connect all of my disparate facial hair patches, and I am slowly improving!
My favorite weather: sunshowers. I dislike being cold, and my acupunturist advises that I stop eating cold cereal in the morning -- shouldn't be a problem in India!!!
PHILOSOPHY
Can you have a 'personal philosophy' if you observe a fundamental interconnectivity between us all?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am looking to surf while in India (or at least meet up with the CS community), and I would love to host once I finish my internship and return to Victoria!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My couch surfing experience is minimal. I found a CS member in Bankok and had the most amazing experience surfing far, far away from Kao San Road.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Jurassic park, Jurassic Park: Lost World, There's something about Bob (or anything with Bill Murray), the Royal Tenenbaums (or anything by wes anderson)
Music: pretty much everything -- looking for new tunes at the moment to binge on!
Books: Whatever is on my syllabus... I also just finished City of Joy by Dominique LaPierre. I enjoyed it, and it stands beside Crime and Punishment in terms of its visceral effects on me!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A 10 day silent meditation retreat in Suan Mokkh, Thailand. One of those rare times in life where everything from perspective, life direction, and inner-experience seems to shift.
I also think that some 'ordinary' things that I've seen (like a sunrise on a commute to school or witnessing an act of genuine kindness) have been far more amazing than some of the 'epic' things (like skydiving or Angkor Wat)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach saxophone & how to do jazz improvisation.
I am passionate about human rights, social change, and eastern religion. I'd love to teach/converse/learn about these topics (and others!?)
I'd love to practice my French/Vietnamese with someone. Khong noi tieng viet duoc! Any other language lessons would be greatly appreciated.
I also want to learn some jokes some good story-telling techniques.
