ABOUT ME

Basically, love to meet people in new places. I love to add to a collection of stories, whether that's talking with someone local over coffee, hanging out on the beach, heading out and getting messy or just taking it easy.

Im a volunteer teacher with a Non-Profit called Worldteach, working at AliaRSE Fundacion in Barranquilla, Colombia, as of January 2012. I'm easygoing and fun, always trying to do and see new things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ive had only good experiences through couchsurfing, and ive hosted and been hosted with friends outside of the site in many countries over a few years. But im always going to new places, so i cant know someone everywhere!

Interests

As of right now, trying to carve out a new life here in Colombia,where Ill live for at least a year. Interested to learn what makes Colombians tick, see the area around Barranquilla and Colombia, learn Spanish (of course), find the great places to hang out around here, and meet new people.

I'm a Paragliding Pilot and Scuba Diver - always looking for new people and places to do that.
Anything I haven't done before (and a lot I have), chilling out, cycling, talking, coffee, politics, art, music, beaches, mountains, diving, clubs, trance, house, beer, spirits, wine and anything in between...
I like to be able to talk to someone about something thought provoking...then again, sometimes I dont and just want to do something mindless.

Music, Movies, and Books

music - trance, dance, house, chill-out, dylan, beatles, parov stelar, angus & julia stone, mark ronson, paul kalkbrenner, velvet underground, nick cave...

books - classic literature, historical fiction,biographies, political history, books on delopment/developing countries, mindless stuff where things blow up - im usually reading 3 or 4 at a time, I try to vary it so theres something interesting and something easy, depending on my mood.

movies - thought provoking, mindless. Fan of tarantino, scorsese, aronofsky, Joss Whedon, anything where the acting is good. Also movies about wherever I am.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving with whale sharks, Learning to Paraglide

Standing on / near the: great wall of china, walls of petra, red square, colliseum, pyramids, eiffel tower, great barrier reef, empire state building, himalayas, angkor wat....but these are just names of places ive been - better to hear a story about them, or a better story about somewhere not famous at all.

Russia "Banya" experience - ask me about it, good story.

Many, many drunken stories of debauchery - but that's not neccessary, I think, for an amazing story - it may make it easier, though.

I like just roaming around countries, seeing what happens.
Visited about 50 countries, over the last 5 or so years - no plans to stop anytime soon.
