À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

expanding my consciousness

ABOUT ME

I have discovered my passion; designing/implementing systems that produce food, energy and natural medicine sustainably and ethically. There are so many problems with the way our current society functions, it's difficult to wrap your head around remedies. I know that if the people of the world are ever going to stop being the slaves of an elite few, then we all need to learn how to create our own supply lines. Re localized resource based economies, with a moral mind on the preservation and beautification of the earth. We are coming to a new stage of evolution, the direction we take is up to us. The thoughts and actions we have today will effect what the world becomes tomorrow.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm in love with the earth under my feet and the sun on my skin. There's nothing we can conceive of that would make a better habitat for humanity than Earth. This organism Gaia has the potential to be extraordinarily abundant. What other place is so gracefully bathed in light? We evolved on this planet, as this planet, it is the perfect home. Our purpose as beings with body, mind and spirit, is to steward the land and animals, to create the most beautiful expression of life that we can manage. We have all the greatest gifts at birth that one could ask for to live on this planet in abundance. We have the world's flora and fauna at our finger tips, there are design systems we can use to create literal forests of foods. To plant a tree is to save yourself, to start a forest is to save the Earth.
Observation of the universe in all of its gloriously unique moments is the most life engaging way of me being. The silent majesty of mountains, the resilient abundance of forests, the tranquil beauty of flowers, the vast variety of the oceans, the ever-changing persistence of rivers. In anything I've witnessed, those sacred instances of true human compassion, are by far the most powerful.

Centres d'intérêt

I spend a lot of time reading, walking through the woods, hiking, cycling, camping, writing and just living. Ideally, I like to get in at least one good yoga session a day, "The universe moves; so too should the energy within your body." Whenever possible, I enjoy sun gazing during sunset and/or sunrise. Among my fields of study I include; permaculture, ecology, herbalism, nutrition, spirituality, acupressure, poetry, qi, chakras, astronomy, love, death, birth, the ethereal, and any topic that comes to me.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

1) I was cruising slowly down an old country road in West Michigan, surrounded by forests and creeks. Fields of apples, cherries, and corn, a dazzling array of abundance, lit brilliantly by a blazing sunset. All the hues and tints of the rainbow shining magically across the terrain. "The divine can most easily be found amongst the mundane; for divinity is an extension of our own true self."

2) Setting: an above average hot mid-summer Sunday in the middle of a small city on a dirty street.
A dangerously thin, decrepit old lady struggles to carry an industrial sized trash bag full of glass bottles. The weight tearing into her shoulder, she limps half-heartedly towards the bottle return at a liquor store, another 5 blocks. A tall young man with long dirty hair, broad shoulders, sweating in a leather jacket. Broke, dehydrated from the night before, he was staring at the ground self-absorbed, walking several yards behind. For a moment he looks up at her, contemplation across his face, the old ladies' pain showing in his eyes. Decidedly, he closed the distance between them, timidly asking if she required any assistance, which she denied. Slightly abashed he retreated several feet back, but for only a moment. Some inner source of strength inspired and encouraged him, as he covered the distance in an instant. He courteously yet insistently offered his help a second time. Taking the weight of the burden onto his own shoulder, he smiled widely. After the very instant of the exchange, the pair of them were radiant with joy. Happily, they trod the distance side-by-side, talking idly of the world and the human condition.

These may seem out of place, but they both thoroughly strike my awe. The compassion we are each capable of is a miraculous thing indeed.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Live, love and laugh? I know you've heard it, so please forgive my redundancy. Adopting it as a life philosophy is another thing entirely.
Live in the present, the future is uncertain and the past unchangeable.
Love ineffably and completely everything you encounter. Better yet, challenged yourself to express the ineffable.
Laugh yourself out of any bad feelings. Everything is temporary, isn't it funny how we might dread fleeting moments? As if they would last.

Or better yet, rather than listening to me, learn from the only source that can possibly give you a lasting truth. From deep within your self you can discover everything with assurance. (I suggest meditation for this endeavor).
