About Me

CURRENT MISSION

mastering the perfect setting on the toaster

ABOUT ME

I'm currently an art student working on my painting major. On the side, I'm in an indie-folk band, in which I play the ukulele and sing vocals for. Oh yeah, and I can make a mean grilled-cheese.

PHILOSOPHY

As artists, we are encouraged to push our boundaries, and utilize whatever resources are available to us by means of exploration. Certainly this is not an apparatus confined solely to the profession of artistry, and that's what really piques my interest. How many different ways do people choose to live their lives and reap the benefits? It would certainly be a shame to live one's entire life safe in the confines of their home when there's an entire expansion of their backyard just beyond their own borders. I live by the good-morality rule, in which, regardless of religion or ideologies or whatnot, we should each strive to do good and be good to ourselves, this earth, and all of its inhabitants. One step towards furthering that is figuring out who those other people are and what sort of lives they live.

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of Bradbury, Orwell, Chekov, Voltaire and J.D. Salinger.Favorite musicians: Beirut, Elliott Smith, Ramona Falls, Johnny Flynn, Radical Face, The Ruby Suns, Menomena, Belle and Sebastian, Port O'Brien, Cat Stevens, etc. Basically anything with swelling harmonies, eclectic instruments, insightful lyrics, or sometimes even just a feel-good melody to it.As far as movies go, I really dig sci-fi movies and foreign films. Really anything with a film-score by Thomas Newman or Clint Mansell is a winner. To put things into perspective, though, I whole-heartedly believe one can never go wrong with any of the LoTR trilogy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play ukulele, write your name in Elvish, and win at Mario Kart while hanging upside down.
