Well briefly, I was a bad child growing up, who found his ability to play football that became my stepping stone out of comfort and into the wildly spontaneous, unpredictable, and fulfilling life I've since created for myself.

I've surfed countless times, but have relied on social connections outside of the net. Hopefully, this site will widen my scope (perspective).

I consider myself to be a renaissance man, never can I focus on a project for any lengthy period, yet I'm inspired to take on new projects almost daily. Jack of all trades, just a master of some.

I absolutely love music, I'm currently restoring my digital music library of over 65,000 songs, though I would say I prefer music that exudes the soul of its creator. The same can be said about my movie and book preferences, but "Two Days in Paris" and "Cien Anos De Solidad" are by favorite movie and book, respectively.

Here is an abstract from a paper that I'm still working on finishing (and I will give that the thesis is still a tad convoluted)...

Religious syncretism, as it occurred in Haiti prior to and during the Haitian Revolution, was a unilateral means of resistance of African slaves in juxtaposition, but within, European cultural hegemony. Haitian African slaves used ontological and cosmological understandings to recreate in the ‘New World’ a theology that gave them an epistemological break/separateness from their slave masters. Necessary for the slaves to maintain their humanity in the face of European ‘enlightened’, and later ‘scientific’, schemas distinguishing them as animal/nature-sensory objects separate from ‘idealized’ Eurocentric notions of humanity (white males). The specific syncretic formation of Haitian Vodoun allowed for the fullest possible expressive amalgamation of African tradition and beliefs. Locked physically and subjectively as massa damnata of global capital, Haitian slaves took to recreating/maintaining their Africanity. Hiding within and symbolically expressing, through Catholic ideographic symbols, traditional African ontology, epistemology, theogony, and cosmology. Necessarily creating a religion to fill the void created by European intelligentsia’s/culture’s attempts to eradicate, then supplicate African schema narratives with Western European Christianity; also disguising, syncretizing, African traditions within Christian ideographic symbolism and epistemology resisting actual assimilation/acculturation into a society/culture, which deemed Africans biotically and socially inferior objects.
