Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Meeting people through Couchsurfing is such an entrance to the world, we could sometimes taste a bit of a country just by meeting its people and listen to their stories. Every bit of the experience affirms my belief that man are basically good. Basically.

Interests

Human consciousness in philosophical term, kind of determinism and free will stuff. Other than that I have special interest in gastronomy (you can say it's eating, haha), language and culture, reading, writing, socializing, and... sarcasm, it's just sexy, ehm.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've watched many movies, listen to various songs, read some books, and it has been my problem in remembering the details, yes, including the titles :-/ Here goes i'm tryin.

Movies: Oceans, Thank You For Smoking, The Blood Diamond, The Departed, Vicky Christina Barcelona, Harry Potter, Lord of The Ring, Dead Poet Society, Pirates of The Caribbean, etc. Thriller and horror just don't fit my definition of good and entertaining movies.

Music: Massive Attack, Saharadja, Homogenic, Muse, Coldplay, Electro.

Books/Authors: Mark Twain, Alain De Botton, Gregg Braden, Richard Brodie, The World Without Us, Hal Spacejock, Virus of The Mind, Secret Societies, The Madness of God, No Logo, Bertanya atau Mati, etc

I would love to share you things I have a little knowledge about and my point of view on random stuff as I would love to hear yours.

I'm a bad teacher, I could teach you Bahasa Indonesia but wouldn't be correcting every mistake you made, not that it's an act of encouragement, nor that I avoid you to feel bad about yourself, I am just lazy... If you see some humor in that, we'd stick as friends for long, betcha!

I once taught creative writing and journalism for high school students a long time ago, using the same method as practicing language, it's "Just write it down," no self editing while writing since that often leads to self sabotaging. I'd tell you I'm no expert in both journalism and creative writing.

As to more practical things aka craftsmanship, I consider myself pretty good with my hands. I make natural soap, jewellery and cookies and once made money out of.

I'd like to learn more about people, listening to their stories, getting to know another culture better through any topic fits them :)
