Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

We'd like to explore the world around us and take in new experiences appreciatively.

ABOUT ME

I'm the saxophone player for an indie rock band out of Providence, RI. We have long hosted fellow travelers from all over (often without using the internet) and now that the band is doing more national touring, we'd like to connect with a community that can help us find places to stay in the cities we are playing in. Currently seeking open couches!

Update: Our first surfing experience was two years ago (during our January 2012 tour) and we couldn't have been more impressed with our first experience on this site. On our second tour in 2013, we were fortunate enough to meet an additional number of fantastic hosts and even re-connect with some people we met previously. We hope to return the favor when circumstances permit, and are looking forward to meeting more interesting folks when we travel again.

PHILOSOPHY

Help others, help yourself, don't be stingy with the peanut butter.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now we're looking for places to stay while on tour, and people who are enthusiastic about their cities to spend some time with. We love getting to see new places and hearing from the people who know what makes them so interesting. We have hosted people in Providence many times, and have made a number of good friends from doing so.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As previously mentioned, we've had the fortune to make lots of new friends by hosting touring musicians (like Lily Maase and the Suite Unraveling, from NY). We've had great planned couchsurfing experiences with people we met through this site, and have also had experiences staying with good-hearted folks up and down the east coast - some planned and some last-minute acts of kindness. Thanks!

Intereses

Music, politics, science, arts, sports, martial arts, philosophy. Also we get really excited about discovering local food and run a nominally amusing blog about it: http://atroopofechoes.tumblr.com/post/34532877293/lovefest-baltimore

Algo increíble que he hecho

Our couchsurfing experiences have provided us with several pretty excellent stories. Ask us and we'll be happy to share!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Travelers - avoid the food on the 95 corridor at all cost! It is much more worth your time (and money) to get off the interstate into the towns along the way and ask someone who's local where you can find a good place to eat. Frequently they'll point you to hidden gems you never would have experienced, and you'll ask yourself why you ever thought about going to Burger King in the first place.
