About Me
Hello everyone!
My name is Atsumi.
I love learning about local life and culture when I travel. Breaking out of my comfort zone, discovering new worlds, and learning about history are things I truly enjoy—especially when it comes to food culture! One of my dreams is to learn home cooking from every country I visit. I believe each dish tells a story of the country and the family who makes it.
I’m looking forward to meeting you! 🤍😊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Seven years ago, when I traveled around the world, I used Couchsurfing and had amazing experiences through it. Now, as I start a new adventure, I’ve traveled across Canada! I have re-registered to connect with people again😊
Interests
I love food (especially non-spicy dishes) and learning about the culture and daily life of each country I visit. I also enjoy knitting, hiking, reading, listening to music, and journaling!
Recently, I’ve also become interested in yoga, Pilates, and surfing!

Teach, Learn, Share
I’m currently studying English, and next year I’m planning to start learning Spanish as well!
Japanese is my native language, so if you’re interested in learning it, I’d be happy to do a language exchange with you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share Japanese culture with you through food, stories, and daily life. I used to work at a sushi restaurant, so I can teach you how to make sushi! haha
I also brought a lot of Japanese food with me, so we can enjoy it together. I’m happy to cook non-spicy dishes and exchange languages — I can help you with Japanese, and I’m learning English and planning to study Spanish next year.
