I am an American who has recently returned to New Zealand to live permanently. I'm obsessed with food (mostly pizza), hospitality, and (obviously) travelling. Emma is Kiwiborn and recently returned from her OE in the US and UK

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people here in Wellington because it is a way to meet travelers while staying at home. It gives me a reason to get out of the house, show people around, and trade travel stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a bunch back in Dunedin while attending university. Now I'd like to get back into it because we have a spare room and nothing to do with it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, me and a friend were picked up hitchhiking in Virginia by a young woman. She let us stay at her house for 4 days in exchange for babysitting her daughter while she went to work (as a stripper). At the end of our stay, she gave us a ride 2 hours South to the Trail Days 2007 festival. Her generousity was inspiring.
