I've been living in southern Wakayama for 2 years now. I used to live in Tanabe (home to the Kumano Kodo World Heritage Site) and now live and work at a guesthouse in Shirahama. Unfortunately I am unable to host couchsurfers because of my job, but I am more than happy to meet up!
