Overview
About Me
I am a Native Texan who left a 27 year career in business to become an 8th grade Science Teacher in 2004. I have had great success at teaching kids about the wonders of our Earth and the basics of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences.
I have always had an interest in photography and cinematic production. In 2013, I started covering spot news stories for Corbis Images (Demotix.com) and working on long-term photo projects. In 2015, I started my third career change from educator to photojournalist / freelance photographer.
There are many stories to be discovered this great nation and that need to be told. I feel that we are at a pivotal time in our history and that I wish to use tell these undiscovered stories through my still and video images.
“Photographing a culture in the here and now often means photographing the intersection of the present with the past.” - David DuChemin
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To facilitate my method of storytelling by experiencing a scene or story through the eyes of local participants.
Staying at hotels and motels are nice and necessary at times, but it is among a location's people where you find the real and true stories of our time.
