About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to tell stories that matter

ABOUT ME

I had a quarter-life crisis when I was about 23. I realized that my dream of working in Hollywood was not all it was cracked up to be. Although I still love the film-making process, the industry is so exasperating I needed to get some distance. After a rehab period where I taught English in Thailand, I struck out to start my own business. Two years of trial and error resulted in Actuality Media. We are currently recruiting film students to travel to developing countries and create documentaries films for nonprofit organizations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After a 26 hour bus ride on a government bus in India we drove into the breathtaking town of Manali, India. In the foothills of the Himalayas, it may be the most green place I have ever been. I have never been so happy to be in a place.

Waking up on a sailboat in the San Blas Islands off the coast of Panama, two local Kona women rowed their wooden canoe over to our boat to show off the handicrafts they had made. And then our captain bought a fresh squid and several lobster off another canoe that rowed on by.

I got married on a beach in Oregon during labor day weekend. As my Dad walked me down the sand to the area we claimed as our "church," I noticed hundreds of tourists watching, from the beyond our driftwood altar and from the sand dunes. When our officiant declared us husband and wife, the entire beach cheered us on. So beautiful.
