About Me

I hail from Asheville, NC and my partner Kerby is from North Georgia. We are in the process of finding a home in Nashville, TN and need a couch to stay on for a night or two while our housing applications are processed. Y'all know how house hunting can be! We are very respectful and can keep to ourselves if you'd prefer, if not, we love making friends! We really are just trying to get settled in Nashville as quickly as possible, so we'll try not to be in anyone's way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used this site when I was an undergraduate and had a great time connecting with people from all over Europe. Many of the trips I took while abroad would not have been possible without the wonderful generosity of the couchsurfing community.

Interests

I love art, looking at it and doing it. I especially like blacksmithing and sculpture. As I mentioned, Kerby is a very talented potter but he paints and does illustrations as well. Although I've had no formal training, I am interested in herbalism and holistic healing. I can always enjoy a good book, good food, and good company. Also a good cup of coffee or dry Spanish wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are all over the place. I can enjoy the blues, classic rock, country, ska, hard rock, R&B, anything really. As long as it has a good beat I will probably enjoy it.

Movies...Cry Baby is my #1. I'm still not sure exactly why but I love it. RomComs, Regular Coms, sometimes a good horror movie.

I would consider myself a bookworm, so it's hard to pick a favorite. There are so many good authors out there. I've been interested in memoirs more recently. David Sedaris, Tom Robbins, Charles Bukowski, Mary Carr, Terry Pratchet. Just a couple off the top of my head. I love talking about books!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Blue Mosque in Istanbul - SO amazing. The energy was so calm and uplifting. Thousands of years of prayers bouncing around in there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing stories with new people, and hearing others' stories in return. There are so many little things that connect us and so many different perspectives that we can share with each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Kerby and I love meeting new people, so I promise some good conversation. We're both pretty good at trivia, so watch out. We like new and interesting foods. Maybe we can go to that restaurant your Aunt Carol was too afraid to try?

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey
