About Me

A friendly traveller, not asking for much and easy to get along with. In my travels, I like to share travel stories and food. I love to play musical instruments (unfortunately not bringing any instrument around while travelling). I value art and good books. At the moment, I am on the road and moving places and so cannot offer to host, but once I'm settled, I would be very happy to be able to host fellow young travelers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find myself enjoying to stay a few days longer rather than city hopping. And my best stays were at friends' place or friends' of friends. I am new to couchsurfing but I am looking forward to be able to meet new people, help them in their daily errands as well as enjoying some relaxing time exchanging what I know of my culture and Asian food with my hosts.

Interests

Books, music. Every since I came to Europe I loved watching musicals. I am an environmental scientist and now studying oceanography, so I also love scuba diving. My other special interest is in community based tourism.

Music, Movies, and Books

Songs from Woodlock Lemons, Jack Johnson. I love classical and folk songs. Movies hmm this is a hard question: everything not horror and not some much thriller too. I recently like re-watching old classics like The Book Thief and some cartoons from Studio Ghibli The Wind Rises. For books I enjoy science-fiction and those with humanity topics like Life of Pi and A Thousand Splendid Suns.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living for two months with a family of fishermen in Bali, where I was teaching English every evening to the kids and adults of the village and was helping them to develop a sustainable community-based coastal tourism.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach my mother tongue language: Indonesian (and Malay). I can cook (and teach how to cook) Asian food. I can teach how to read music, how to play the piano and violin (if you have the instrument at home!). Well basically I am excited to share whatever skills I have with anyone!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I offer to cook dinner and help in any way I can around the house during my stay :-)
