Overview
About Me
I am a calm, though outgoing person. I'm pretty optimistic and joyful. I'm very curious and eager to learn new things. I can be quite a smart-ass and I'm sometimes suprisingly stuburn.
I'm a literature teacher in Cégep, which is sort of like College, I guess (students from 17 to 20 years old). My main interest in life is culture in all it's forms (books, movies, plays, music, art, TV, etc.). Other than that, I'm a huge fan of craft beers and I like to play board games. When I'm not to busy, I also do rock climbing and play a bit of ukulele. And obviously, I love traveling!
P.S. My first language is French, but I'm too lazy to translate all my profile. Don't hesitate to write to me in French though!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I like people and traveling! And Couchsurfing makes me believe in a world where people care about each other.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have both couchsurfed and hosted. I especially like when my host has time to show me around his city and try to do the same with the couchsurfers I host (when my schedule allows it).
Interests
Reading, drinking good beer, brewing decent beer, playing ukulele, playing board games, wandering around town (Montréal is an amazing city!), going out to see plays or shows, staying in to watch movies, drinking tea and coffee, being out in the woods or on the roads, meeting new people, learning...
I especially like to talk and learn things about: sociology, culture, linguistics, feminism... basically anything that concerns the way human beings live together.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: All movies written by Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Synecdoque New York), I'm Not There, Lost in Translation, Where the Wild Things Are, Darjeeling Limited, Her... Independent, intelligent and original movies in general. Mainly american and canadian movies, but I'm hoping to get the time to discover movies from other countries (If you have suggestions, I'll gladly take them!).
Music: folk and bluegrass are definitely my thing, but I also listen to a lot of rock and a bit of pop (lots of music from Quebec you probably wouldn't know of, but also Arcade Fire, Bob Dylan, Trampled by Turtles, The Cat Empire, The Kinks...)
Books: Mostly Quebec (french-canadian) novels and graphic novels, and also a bit of poetry. Otherwise, mostly French/English/American 20th and 21th century novels (which would be too long to list).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Pretty much all my travels were amazing experiences, among which:
- doing an international cooperation internship in Nicaragua for 2 months
- hitchhiking over 5000 km in different areas of Canada
- cycling around Ireland for a month
- spending a semester abroad in France (and traveling around Europe on weekends and Holidays)
The memories of the places I've seen and the people I've meet during these trips are really dear to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really like to share travel anecdotes. If you have any funny/special travel stories, I will be glad to hear them. I also like to learn historical or cultural facts about the places I visit, and share trivia facts about my own city.
Besides that, I can teach you a lot about beer, Quebec culture (books, music, movies, etc.) and French language. And being a really curious person, almost anything you would want to teach me would be appreciated!
