About Me

Adventurer. Mule Ambassador.
My heart is split between the mountains of SW Virginia and the Wild West!

I love to travel and explore this great world as much as I possibly can, preferably from the back of an equine (horse, mule, or donkey).

I love national parks and any type of wilderness area!

I have worked as a trail guide for the mule rides at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
I currently work on my family's farm where I grew up; we raised mules & donkeys here for many years, but now I (with the help of the family) manage the farm and take care of the animals, as well as do some training and give horsemanship & riding lessons.
I am also a partner at Little Mountain Cattle Company, an all-natural grassfed beef cattle operation that my brother started.

Interests

Equines (horses, mules, & donkeys). They're my biggest passion!
Cattle are quickly becoming a second passion.
The outdoors and Nature. I love exploring and seeing this beautiful world that God has blessed us with!

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up going to Bluegrass festivals and classic Rock & Roll concerts (even though the rockers had turned into old men by then haha). My family goes to concerts and live music often, and the styles and genres vary considerably. Some of our favorites include Darrell Scott and the local Folk Soul Revival…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working as a guide and exploring with my very own mule at the Grand Canyon for two summers.
Those summers were the biggest and best adventures of my life, and have played such a huge role in the person I am and the path I've taken to get where I am today!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and bake. Pies, cakes, cookies--all from scratch and usually many or all of the ingredients come from our own farm or the local farmer's market. … We have several chickens that lay eggs each day, much more than we could ever eat. … We also have several good breweries close by.
