ABOUT ME

I'm the 4th child from a family of 8 kids, so sharing space is in my blood. I grew up in a small town close to Toronto, Canada. I lived in Ottawa for university and then in Ireland to finish up my degree. I did the backpacking tour around Europe and worked as an au pair in the Netherlands after finishing up undergrad. Since then, I've been living in Toronto. I worked for several years in the non-profit industry in fundraising and education, and I just finished my master's degree in education. I'm about to start my career as a teacher, which is exciting and terrifying all at the same time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met some great people while in Europe through couchsurfing. I love the sense of community promoted by couch surfing. I don't have the space right now to host, but I am happy to meet up with people to share about the cool corners of Toronto. As a former tour guide of the city, I run a mean walking tour of the hotspots downtown, but I also know some of the less touristy places to hit up.

Interests

I like people&making new friends. I like to learn. I like to cook&bake, go to live shows, and read. I like spending time outdoors - in parks, on my bike, in the backwoods camping.

MOVIES: American History X, Empire Records, Superbad, Juno, the Departed

BOOKS: High Fidelity, most stuff by Timothy Findlay and Douglas Coupland, Everything is Illuminated, Harry Potter, some stuff by Jane Austen, A Fine Balance, my goal is to read at least one of Tolstoy's back breakers this year: War and Peace or Anna Karenina

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've led educational trips for students to Rwanda.

I adopted a special needs puppy. He is a lab/boxer mix named Howie and I love him!
