About Me
CURRENT MISSION
photographing the world a day at a time
ABOUT ME
Graduated in May 2011 from UNC Chapel Hill from the photojournalism program and spent summer 2011 as a photography intern for the San Francisco Chronicle. I fell in love with the city and couchsurfed from Raleigh NC to move out to San Francisco for good. I am currently a freelance photojournalist on top of being a full time video editor and producer for a nonprofit in the city.
I am independent, down-to-earth, talkative, and love meeting new people. Interesting fact, I have the hiccups every day and have had them every day for the past 5 years. Not sure why, but most of my friends and family find it entertaining.
PHILOSOPHY
living and learning one day at a time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted a few times since joining CS (first roommates in SF weren't cool with me having surfers…which obviously made them lame as all get out), but have two new roommates who are super chill and while we currently don't have much space for surfers in our apartment, we are working on clearing out a back room so we can host more people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not new to couchsurfing, but because of a crazy work schedule, I have not accepted surfers for a long time. Last time I surfed myself was over a year ago. Heard about CS through a friend who made it to San Francisco from New York through CS and then surfed across the US along the southern route on I-40 and met some wonderful people along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
love everything from fleet foxes and sufjan stevens, to frank sanatra and louis armstrong. I don't think I could possibly chose a favorite movie or favorite book, but the last movie I watched was 'Sabrina' (with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart) and the last book I read was 'Pictures of You' by Caroline Leavitt.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Greatest trip I have ever taken was a mission trip I went on to Montero Bolivia. Worked with a group to build a maternity ward in an old Red Cross clinic to provide women with a place to give birth because there was no hospital nearby. It was one of the most rewarding and challenging things I have done in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: love teaching people to dance. No matter where I go, if music starts playing, sooner rather than later, a dance lesson begins.
Learn: always looking for something new to learn! what can you teach me??
Share: A friend introduced me to pepper ketchup. SO GOOD. just mix a lot of pepper into ketchup before dipping fries and its so good.
