About Me

To put it in a few words - i just finished studying medicine (the first 6 years at least haha) and now i have some free time before starting my internship. In general i try to make the most of my time - traveling, visiting unique places, finding new hobbies, friends and enjoying a good dose of adrenaline.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people and show them around, this way i can sort of travel without even leaving my home. CS is also a great place to get new ideas and see the world differently and it's also much more authentic visiting place with someone who actually lives there :)

Interests

Kayaking, hiking, running (trail mostly), ropejumping, bicycling (long distance road / mountain / downhill), hitchhiking, cooking, arts (used to paint some time ago, now i'm learning the guitar), nature, medicine, science, reading, movies, music, dreaming, exploring, trying out new things.. Too many to name:)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I listen to a lot of various music, at the moment my favorite groups are The Cure, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Mooncake, The Cranberries, but the music mostly depends on my mood so varies from classical to dance to alternative to trance to anything to be honest.

Movies - I prefer movies that make you think, either by being complex or just by being really well done. I can't say i have a favorite movie or genre, because that changes a lot with the mood, so i'll just name several that i liked and that pop into my mind at this moment: Barton Fink, Barry Lyndon, Apocalypse Now, The Shawshank Redemption, Amadeus, 12 Angry Men, Interstellar, Moon, For a Few Dollars More... :)

Books - sci-fi mostly, Clarke, Asimov, Barjavel among others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing one so far is hitch-hiking alone to Nordkapp (the most Northern point in Europe, well, almost) and back (~3200km) during the darkest time of year (end of December) from Southern Finland with temperatures as low as -33C and most of the nights spent sleeping outside in a tent.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you some tips on hiking, cycling, hitch-hiking, outdoor equipment.. Anything that's listed in my hobbies i guess :)
