I like jumping in puddles, wearing skirts, putting mustard on everything I eat and doing the dishes (but only when I don't have to). I don't like raisins.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted people in Iceland a while back - and then I got to experience being hosted all over Europe when I went on a backpacking trip. I'd like to start hosting from time to time again!

I am good at making pancakes, accidentally insulting people, knitting hats and wearing clothes that do not match.

I love playing board games. I try to play the ukulele. I should try new recipes more often.

I like cookbooks. A whole lot.

I also like children's literature. Some of my favorites are Momo by Michael Ende, All the Lotta books by Astrid Lindgren and Sophie's World by Jostein Gaardner.

My favorite written-for-adults books are The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, Independent People by Halldór Laxness, and The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.

I listen to a lot of folk, country-folk and alt-country. Needless to say, there's not much I like on the radio, though I do like the occasional pop song, and have developed sort of an obsession for electro-pop recently. Some of my favorite artists are Missy Higgins, Fiona Apple, Sia, Jenny Owen Youngs, Laura Marling, Metric, Neko Case, Rilo Kiley, Patty Griffin, Kasey Chambers and Lori McKenna.

I flew to New Zealand, drove up to Cape Reinga and saw the Tasman Sea meet the Pacific Ocean. That was pretty mind-blowing.
