About Me

CURRENT MISSION

There was a mythical hat worn by Tamerlane while destroying the Golden Horde, which granted him wisdom, strength, and a small imp that did his bidding. I want to find and wear that hat.

ABOUT ME

"All about me" is too staggering a category in which to participate. How about, "young, brunette, leopard-print vest, devastatingly handsome..."

PHILOSOPHY

I think Lynrd Skynrd really summed it up best when they sang...uh, wait a second...I mean that I have always been moved by something some obscure French philosopher wrote about the infinite wonder of...is "duck and cover" a philosophy?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I did some couch surfing in Morocco, then lived in a research center in Algeria - putting any potential surfing on hold. I am now re-couched back in Irvine.

Interests

Eastern European gypsy (yeah, its probably an ethnic slur) music, films about men who smoke too much, print, midwest hiphop, spell-check, hate-filled political discourse (purely academic, of course), whiskey (purely academic as well), hummingbirds, the intricate geometries of history, confluences and causalities, the Minnesota Twins, and sweaty old-guy basketball, among others

Music, Movies, and Books

This category is just like the "about me" one that I copped out of earlier. Um, I enjoy movies, music and books. All types. Here are some movies I have recently watched: 1900, The Long Goodbye, Harry Potter of some kind, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Reds, Mulholland Drive; I'm listening to the Rolling Stones right now, was listening to The Band earlier, but generally do not listen to late 60s rock, country music, crotch-rock or radio r&b and rap. I can't imagine reading a book right now unless it involves India during World War I.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I charmed a cobra with a whistled ditty.
