My name is Aukje, I am 29 years old and I live in Sint Maarten (you jealous yet? ;p).
I also have a great job ;) I am a PE teacher on this beautiful island. Travelling and playing sports is something I'd like to do very much.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travelled with 2 couch surfers through the Rocky Mountains. It was so much fun. We laughed a lot, we played sports, we sung in the car, we went horse back riding, we went out, we met awesome new people. It was just a great unexpected experience.

Interests

I love playing sports. Recently I started playing beach tennis, tennis, and squash. Furthermore I like cycling, hiking, sight seeing etc. Meeting up with friends, watching Netflix and reading is something I'd like to do in my spare time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Volunteering at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics in the Richmond Olympic Oval
-Travelling for 8 months in 2011 - 2012. Visited Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada, US
-Organising the Olympic Moves project in Sint Maarten for students of my school. Kids with different levels of education and different cultural backgrounds had the opportunity to show their unquestionable talents to the rest of the Dutch Kingdom. Together we raised money to make this trip happen. This was an awesome experience.
