I am about to start medical school in August, and have recently returned to the United States from a year doing research in Germany. I'm a serious bookworm and really enjoy seeing live music whenever I get the chance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I often take trips by myself, but really enjoy getting to know people wherever I go. I would much rather explore the world while making friends than going it (completely) alone. Meeting new people can only help to make my time here more memorable. Traveling alone can get somewhat boring and I feel I will get a better feel for where I am visiting if I couchsurf.

Interests

I enjoy reading and writing (mainly in my personal journal). I also like to run and try to stay fit. I have recently started cooking more often and am getting fairly adept at making Indian food, which I am more than happy to share with hosts!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pretty eclectic taste in media, but something that stands out is my love of Russian authors such as Dostoevsky and Bulgakov. I also enjoy most music and am always looking for more online. I don't watch too many movies, but I make up for that by watching many television shows (mostly sitcoms such as Parks and Recreation and Community).

I'm still amazed that I got the opportunity to go to Germany to conduct research without language skills!

I would love to learn how to cook a dish from my host's region and I would also be happy to share some of my mother's Indian recipes that I am getting better at making.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can definitely help cook and clean to make sure I am contributing to my stay. I have no problem helping out with chores in the home. I will also definitely buy beer!
