Overview
About Me
I want to contribute to improving the world and share as many good experiences as I can.
I've been working for four years in an NGO in the UK promoting more sustainable economic practises. Now part of a larger food group working on solving plastic pollution.
I help companies figuring out how to be less wasteful and use resources in more clever way.
I still have my gypsy-student side somewhere inside me. The one who hitch-hiked and cycled over Europe, camped in capital cities... I still sleep outdoors regularly. I love nature, and I want to enjoy it in the most simple way. My favourite activities are hiking, cycling and sailing (and climbing, kayaking etc...)
If you hear about me as "Javi", it was just a nickname I had chosen in South America in 2013 because Aurelien wasn't so common. In the UK I use "Aury".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It would be nice to host travellers as I used to, especially now that I have a more decent place.
Interests
I love cooking, especially with other people.
I love speaking Spanish.
I love cycling: environmentally friendly, free.
I like putting seeds in soil and see them sprouting, growing
Ah! And of course, once the food is cooked... I love eating!
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Balkan, Latin (Cumbia, Salsa and even Reggaeton), Jazz, Old rock, Metal, (...)
One movie: Life is a miracle(Emir Kusturica)
Books: Travelling stories books; all the books giving a hint of human history
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Turkey three times: once cycling, once hitch-hiking, and once sailing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sailing, maintaining a bicycle, speaking some French, improvising cooking, getting the grips with what could sustainability be in reality
I'd like to improve my Spanish, share good moments and rich conversations
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have had amazing experiences with couchsurfers.
Hosting or being hosted.
Really, some unforgettable moments.
The first one that comes to my mind: my German couchsurfer teaching my Gabonese neighbour in the shared kitchen how to say "Hey beautiful" in German. Since then Yann, my Gabonese neighbour is my friend :-)
