About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living my dream in Bali
ABOUT ME
My name is Aurélie (pronounced "oraylee"). I think I can describe myself as open minded, caring, genuine and independent. I grew up and was educated in France but always felt like living a more exciting and enriching life than the one I had.
I lived and worked in England for seven years, which was such a wonderful experience that it has become home.
In January 2009, my dream of travelling around the world solo became true! A whole year of unforgettable and revealing experiences : Egypt, Jordan, South Africa, Mozambique, South East Asia, Indonesia :-), Australia and New Zealand, where I lived until May 2010. California on the way back, then a "so called" summer in England.
Now making my dream come true, moving to Indonesia : CARPE DIEM :-0
PHILOSOPHY
Life gets better with time, just like wine!
Simplicity, human warmth and smiles :-0
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to host and surf. Life is all about sharing, isn't it?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Meeting and mixing with locals has always been my favourite part of travelling
Interests
I am mostly into watersports (diving, swimming, waterskiing, windsurfing) and have recently taken up surfing, which I love! I also enjoy running, reading, drinking good wine (not too much) and travelling.

Read my own good bye speech to my dad at his funeral in front of hundreds of people.
Surfing in February in England
Rock climbing in South Africa
Volunteered as a teacher in a township in South Africa
Experienced the Sumatra earthquake on September 2009
Tandem bungy (nearly wet myself) and a sky dive (cracked my lip open from trying to shout) within a couple of hours...did not sleep for three days :-0
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach French, I cannot wait to learn Bahasa Indonesian and would love to get back into my surfing. It has been too long :-(
