CURRENT MISSION

I work in the animation industry in Angoulême, as an Art director or a Background artist.
I am also an illustrator and a painter.

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Paris, but I have been living in Angoulême since 2015, at first for my studies, and now I work there.
I'm a really curious guy, I love painting, music, comic books, cinema, sports, cooking, photography, and more. Painting is one of my most important passions (well you probably have guessed it by now...).
When I paint, I love trying to capture the light and the mood in the scenes I'm painting. Gathering photographic references is one of the reasons I travel. I'm always looking for nice compositions everywhere I look, nice light effects, nice color variations.
During my trips, I also try to learn about the culture of the country I'm in (even if it's local traditions in France) to understand a bit more about the place I'm visiting. This is one of the reasons I'm on couchsurfing, because couchsurfers are always eager to tell you more about their life, country, culture...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first joined CouchSurfing to find some hosts in Annecy because i was there volunteering for the international animation film festival in 2011. I did this three years in a row and it always was a great experience for me.

Now, i'm still on couchsurfing because it's really easy and great to meet people by CS when you arrive in a city or a country that you don't know. It always have been a pleasure for me anyway.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite painters are Joaquin Sorolla, Félix Vallotton, Hiroshi Yoshida, Uchida Masayasu, and impressionist painters or post impressionnists in general, like Claude Monet, Camille Corot, Van Gogh.
Some of my favorite writers are Albert Camus, Alain Damasio or Isaac Asimov.
Music wise, I love Nils Frahm, Mark Knopfler, Kendrick Lamar, Nekfeu, Rone, and more.
Now for photographers, I love the work of photojournalists like Sebastiao Salgado, Marc Riboud or Willy Ronis.
I love film makers like Hirokazu Kore Eda, Denis Villeneuve, or Sydney Lumet.

Well, I wrote the names of a lot of my favorite artists, it was fun trying to sum up what I like in a few lines.
