About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Build things! Currently my main project is the website www.qwerteach.com
Other than that... I'm still trying to figure it out.

ABOUT ME

Hi there!

Describing myself is a really hard exercise but let's try it anyway!
So for the obvious not so obvious, I'm a 27 years old girl from Belgium, also a freshly graduated bioengineer and not so interested in jumping into the job market.
I'm currently taking a little time of to try and figure out what I really want to do and what direction I want my life to be going. :)

I like to think I'm easy going and friendly, although I have tendency to be little shy and/or socially awkward (which I'm trying to get rid of!). I'm a music lover, be it playing, writing or listening, it's all good! I'm always trying to find new things to listen to. I also like reading a lot, especially science fiction novels but that's completely non restrictive.
So far I only speak french and english and a little dutch, but one day I'd like to be able to say that I'm fluent in other languages like spanish and german. Or others, like chinese, who knows!

PHILOSOPHY

OK, I don't really have philosophy, really... I try to treat people the way I'd like them to do with me. For the rest, I don't really know what the f**k I'm doing here so I don't have lessons to give to anyone. If I can find my place on earth I'll be happy ^^

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've tried to convince my flatmates to host surfers somewhat successfully. I've had the oportunity to surf on a couch in Cambodia, and meet locals in various places in SE Asia through CS. Just to grab a coffee and chat a bit.

Interests

As I already said, I love music. I play guitar and the violin, and I can spend an insane amount of time listening to music.
I used to read a lot, although that's calmed down in the last few months but I still identify as a person who reads. Sci fi is my preferred gendra but not the only one I enjoy. I'm really envious of people who are good at painting or drawing, that impresses me a lot, since I really suck at it. ^^

I also have quite a nerdish side, including the love to disassemble electronic devices and video games. Guess you could say I'm a big geek. See? Female nerds do exist! ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2010 participated in a synthetic biology competition launched by the MIT in Boston. The few days I spent there with the belgian team were really one of my best memories. I spent my time talking with fellow scientists about ways to use science make the world a better place, it was awesome. And also meeting people from all over the world, in itself it's amazing.

Now I'm working on launching my startup, and it's a fabulous adventure!
