Overview
About Me
I grew up in an arts centre/commune in London which hosted artists, musicians and performers from all other the world.
I got into film-making just after leaving school which brought me to Vancouver two and a half years ago. I thought it would just be for a year, maybe two, but I fell in love with exploring British Columbia and the friends I made here.
So now it's home, and for my two cats Lebowski and Kazumi whom I brought with me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My boyfriend has used Couchsurfing a lot (in fact his first home where we met was via this site, so thank you!) and his love for it convinced me to sign up and try it out.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Trip Hop as it makes the perfect up-beat chill soundtrack for any gathering with friends. I grew up on folk like Sandi Denny so often listen to that. Love a bit of classic rock, metal, punk or goth. Some pop (ok really bad cheesy pop), hip-hop, jungle, reggae, garage, electronica and disco.
Pulp Fiction is one of my favourite films, I love 80s/90s Indiewood which it came out of, as well as world cinema and film festivals.
George Orwell is my favourite author and if I had to pick one book it would be Homage to Catalonia. As well as being a great read and incredibly well written, it really shows the foundation of his philosophy that his more well known books came from.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For me it was when I was in Thailand I travelled from Mae Saraing to Siem Reap on a Songthaew based on a single Trip Adviser comment. I had never travelled or strayed from the beaten path before and had no concrete idea of where I was going.
I had an extraordinary journey with rice paddies, lots of locals, the bus being loaded up with grain, parcles and a massive container of eels that I had to keep putting the lid back on so they didn't jump out, rainforest, a village of bamboo huts built on stilts, and making border guards laugh with my wai when asking for information. And felt really proud of myself for making the journey which I found so extraordinary that the destination was rendered almost irrelevant.
