About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To mix my work and play, to learn & to educate, to inspire and be inspired, and to fill my life with magical people and experiences!

ABOUT ME

Variety is the spice of life! I live off of good conversation, contemplating life and journalling about it, friendship, positivity, creativity and adventure. I'm super easy going in that I'm open-minded, love trying new things, easily adapt to new environments and genuinely like almost everyone I meet, but I'm very high energy at the same time. Sometimes on weekends I want to go out for a night of dancing, drinking, and making awesome memories with good people, and sometimes I want to stay in and drink tea and read a book. I get super excited about meaningful discussion, live music, delicious food, dancing and traveling. I'm passionate about my work and to keep it that way I like to run away from it all a few times a year and go somewhere new :) Which brings me here!

PHILOSOPHY

Above all I seek balance! I keep my medicine wheel hung on the wall to remind me to appreciate, exercise and nurture my body, heart, mind and soul equally. I try to fill my life evenly, often spending time surrounded by awesome individuals and spending quality time on my own thinking, creating, writing and engaging with the natural world around me just as often. When adventure calls I am beyond excited to get out there and experience all this fantastic world has to offer and when home calls I'm equally happy to return to my cozy Northern digs and enjoy some peace and quiet. I'd say the other guiding principle in my life is to spread the light! Teaching others what we've learned, learning from them in return and making our lives all the better is the whole point, in my opinion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, since I haven't done this before I guess I will go with how I'd like to participate! I would love to meet some cool people living in/near the cities I plan to visit. When traveling I like to get a feel for what life in a place is like more than checking off a to-do list of things to do and see, and locals generally have the best idea of what that means. Not to say I am looking for a steady tour guide - I'm not, but as far as hanging out goes, I'm down if you're down!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the Couchsurfing community! I am planning a trip right now for March 2014 and this will be my first time to travel this way. I'm doing this to connect with locals and hopefully make friends before/while I check out these new places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once had a flight cancelled and instead of flying to Vancouver, found myself at an electro-swing dance party on an off-the-grid handmade houseboat in the middle of a frozen Arctic bay under the Northern Lights with a bunch of fabulous strangers/new friends. This reinforced my belief that good can come from every situation!
