About Me

Hello you !!!!

First, thank you for taking the time to read this huge novel :) We just want to give you as much information as we can ;)

So let's start, I’m Aurore and with my crazy friend Francesca, we have decided in only 2 minutes to go on the other side of the world to live an amazing experience and hopefully you will be part of it :-)

About us:
Francesca is a 3O-year-old Italian, she grow up in Martellago, near Venice. She has a degree in Business and Economy. After her degree, to improve her English, she moved to Ireland. After 6 months, she came back to Italy and in less than one year, she splitted up with her boyfriend (after 8 years together), bought her own flat and started working seriously. She is currently managing a gas station on the highway and when she has three days off she often books a flight to any city in the world just to see something different.

Regarding her hobbies: she has taken a huge amount of different courses just to satisfy her curiosity ... french classes, cut and sewing, volunteering in an hospital and yoga sessions are a few examples. She loves swimming, walking, cooking cakes and biscuits, reading esoteric books, listening all kind of music (jazz, blues and swing mainly). She loves old black-and-white movies,or action ones. Pride and Prejudice is definitely on the top of her list. She loves spending time with her family and friends and organising dinners in her flat. She loves cats and has 2.
She looks like a stressed girl but actually she is simply full of positive energy and she loves very simple things.

As for me, I’m French, 26 years old and live in Normandy. I did a business school and I also graduated from the University of Brighton. I lived 2 years and a half in London, I was an events manager but quitted my job, left my friends, moved from my flat… left everything there a few weeks ago to live another experience, which one? I don’t know yet, I will say I’m just opened to opportunities …anywhere in the world.

Regarding my hobbies, I run marathons; I used to ride horses, love cooking, reading and taking pictures of the sky occasionally. I will say that I'm an easy going person; I enjoy simple things, love nature, love good food and red wines. And I don’t know if I should say it, but I’m a big fan of English TV programmes and English humour, so if you have already watched Made in Chelsea, Don’t tell the Bride, The Great British Bake Off, Come fly with me, Little Britain and so on…. I’m your girl hahaha.

Now regarding us, we met 5 years ago in Greystones, a little town near Dublin. We were both au-pair there, and not so closed at the beginning as we have our own friends. But things change as fast as time goes and step by step we started to get to know each other and we found out, that we had more in common that we could have thought. Since then, we have managed to see each other several times every year either in our respective countries or in other European cities. Even with the distance and the fact that we can’t really see each other when we want, every time we meet up somewhere it’s like we were together the day before.
So we have now decided to go a step further in our friendship spending three weeks together in Australia. And to make our trip crazier, funnier and culturally more interesting, we would like to know Australia in the most appropriate way staying with and meeting local people.

And I didn’t mention it, but Francesca doesn’t speak French and I don’t speak Italian so we are only speaking in English.

Feel free to ask us more questions if you wish.

We look forward to meeting you.

A bientôt / Ciao

Francesca and Aurore

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is for both of us the perfect way to live our trip in Australia at 100%; visiting stunning places but also meeting people who have been living in the South and East coasts for a certain time. We are really interesting in living the Australian culture and way of life.

We would like to stay a few nights in your place to obviously save a bit of money but also to spend good times together and sharing our craziness, our cultures with you, enjoying good food and drinking a good bottle of red wine for example.
