About Me
Hello, my dear fellow adventure-seekers!
My lovely parents gave me a beautiful, but unfortunate name for any traveler - Aušrinė. If you looked at it with confusion lost in doubt how to pronounce it, well, you obviously already understood why it is unfortunate. However, after some painfully bad attempts shorten or translate my name and 1,5 years in Scotland, my friends came up with a nickname - Ocean (I tell everyone that Big Sea is my street name), which all of you are welcome to use to make life easier for everyone.
I am a student at the University of Edinburgh, studying the science of all the people at the loss of what to do with their lives - Social Anthropology. As it combines my love for people, traveling and cultures, it suits me very well.
Currently I'm living in the capital of Scotland - Edinburgh, and welcome every person wanting to meet up or, in near future, looking for a place to stay at.
I grew up in beautiful Lithuania and most of the time I miss its woods and lakes here in Scotland. Also, as a Lithuanian, I'm skilled at making our traditional brilliantly pink cold soup to confuse any traveler.
I suppose after all this I do not have to add that I am very talkative and love telling stories (and listening to them).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking for beautiful (from within) people, willing to exchange their thoughts on the world and experiences travelling.
Interests
My interests are various and many.
I consider people to be my main inspiration to do anything, so the most important interest would be meeting and learning about new people and their experiences.
I love travelling, being a bit reckless and looking for adventures. I've always found abandoned buildings full of memories of secrets, so every abandoned place I can get into must be explored.
I've finished art school with specialization in metal printing, thus art was always one of my dearest passions, together with theater.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly listen to ambient music, folk rock and jazz, but I'm open to all tastes and kinds of sound.
My most beloved movies are Dead Poet's Society and Swing Kids, both of them painfully sad and not really the ones I would like to see again and again, but very dear to me. Broken Circle Breakdown and The Road Home are must-sees as well!
Ever since my childhood Ray Bradbury's books were the most inspirational and dear.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've volunteered as a shepherdess in a nomadic organic sheep farm in the Alps with nudist hosts.... Yep. That's probably the strangest thing I've done so far, though it was absolutely wonderful.
Teach, Learn, Share
Cooking skills (especially bakes!) Food is my secret (or not that secret) joy and comfort, so I'm always looking for new ideas and recipes.
And, surely, stories...
