About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Host as many cultures as I can! And learn French!
ABOUT ME
When I was 20 years old, I had the urge to travel overseas for part of my University studies - partly because my father had just come back from Canada a year ago and partly because the governement and university was going to pay me a collective $10k to do it!
Chose Montreal and loved it!
Now I want to see the world - but we all know that (apart from getting $10k scholarships) the life of a uni student isn't all razzle dazzle so anything with more than 1 pillow and included breakfast was out for me. That is - until I discovered the wonderful world of couch surfing! Now I can travel to different parts of the world and meet wonderful new people all for just the cost of the travel expenses and my self safety!!
In fact - I don't even care about breakfast! And who needs pillows!? It seems a couch is the essence of life and the perfect medium for meeting people!
Well lets see. I studied Electronic Engineering but I actually worked as a Software Engineer for almost 4 years. I love just about any sport possible because when you're Australian and in a foreign land - nobody understands your native sports!!! AFL? CRICKET!?
I play guitar - but if you own one.. don't ask me to play - it's a sure fire way of ending a potential friendship. I love to get out and discover things! And ofcourse I love the nightlife. That may be a busy, populated club or just a few quieties with buffalo wings around the tube watching the hockey (Canadian influences)
Of course there's so much more to me but you know what? You can ask me when I'm on your couch or you're on my couch! :D
PHILOSOPHY
Well, firstly, I'm pretty open to anything. I believe that everybody can have their own opinions and don't judge them on that.
Secondly, I'm an atheist and because of this I try to make the absolute most of the one chance I've got at life. No regrets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For a long time I was only hosting, and hosting pretty heavily.
I've done a bit of surfing so I have an appreciation of what it's like to be on the other side of the couch.
Finally now I have decided to settle down for a bit and so can start hosting and catching up with travellers again.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first discovered Couchsurfing while looking for a hostel for a last minute trip to New York City. Having trouble finding anything, a friend refered me to Couchsurfing. It made the trip so much more enjoyable and from that moment I dedicated myself to providing the same sort of hospitality in Australia upon return!
I then hosted for three or four years quite heavily in Australia until I went traveling again, being able to see the other side of the couch for a year or so.
Now, I am finally back in a stable position to consider hosting again, but this time in Sweden, so it will be interesting!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm really annoyed that the Couchsurfing system requires this field to be completed in order to send CouchRequests.
I don't see how knowing what amazing things somebody has done in the past is an indication of how good a guest/host they will be.
Anyway, I ice skated on Lake Louise once - that was cool.
Oh and I was on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire once too. Needless to say, I'm not a millionaire.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have attempted amicably in the past to explain the sport of cricket to foreigners. Through time, I have learnt to explain it in a manner that's more and more simple to understand for outsiders, but still lacks a lot of the specifics. If you're a beginner at guitar I can teach you a few chords and basic songs.I've also taught couchsurfers how to gamble at Australian pubs in a variety of ways - although this one is probably not advisable to learn!
