About Me
Hey guys! :) I'm Austeja, a 20 y/o student which will start studying at the University of Amsterdam this fall. I love to travel as much as I do love meeting new people, learning new languages and discovering world's cultures. I am quite outgoing and I love interacting with people, hearing their stories and sharing mine next to a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. I am a tidy person so there wouldn't be issues with that and I also love to cook so if hosts would want to have a nice chit-chat with dinner I would be more than pleased to prepare something tasty for you guys. I also love all kinds of pets and am willing to help taking care of them during my stay if needed, you can be assured that they will receive lots of love from me:) All in all, I am a positive and friendly person that is ready to discover different countries with its amazing hosts.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that in order to feel the "taste" of a culture it is important to not always stay in nice hotels where everything is the same wherever you travel but to meet and spend time with people who have the culture within them. Listen to their stories, share discussions and discover similarities between a number of differences. I am also on Couchsurfing because I wish to not only necessarily stay at host's home but also share some fun time with them, get to know them as people if they would be willing to do so. For me, visiting a country is not about rushing through all touristic spots but about seeing narrow streets that are often missed by tourists' eyes, visiting small local shops and bakeries and discovering local gems that can found with a help of hosts living in the country.
