Overview
About Me
I'm a good, hard worker that never puts work first. I like to be adventurous and am excited by opportunities to try new things, meet new people, and go new places. I am also very content taking it easy and enjoying simple conversation with folks, especially if there is beer involved. I am a composed individual, easily pleased, and very flexible (lifestyle-wise, not physically).
I like people, nature, languages, food, adventure, farms, and beer.
I dislike TV shows. I dislike tourist attractions.
"One final paragraph of advice: do not burn yourselves out. Be as I am - a reluctant enthusiast....a part-time crusader, a half-hearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it’s still here. So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to the body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much; I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound men and women with their hearts in a safe deposit box, and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this; You will outlive the bastards.”
― Edward Abbey

Music, Movies, and Books
Bluegrass, Country music
I like reading. Many things.
I don't watch all that many movies...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rope swing the Corona Arch in Utah!
Go down the Amazon River in Peru on a cargo ship loaded with 150 people squashed together in hammocks.
Thru-hike the Long Trail in Vermont with my little brother!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll teach you how to tie some knots, how to speak a language, or how to start a damn good fire. I could also give you some insights into the complexities of environmental issues worldwide.
Looking to learn anything I don't know, feel free to teach me anything you think is important.
Let's share some adventures. That's pretty open-ended.
