Overview
About Me
I just finished cycling across the country with a non-profit called Bike and Build and after pedaling for two and half months I'm taking the slow train home stopping in interesting places along the way to visit friends and see a different part of the country. I'm excited to cross the Rockies without working for it and enjoy air conditioning through the hot parts of the southwest. Before my epic journey I graduated from Clemson University, in South Carolina and unfortunately moved back home while searching for gainful employment and planning my next adventure before getting a job and finally being able to answer the "So what do you want to do with your degree?" question. Until then I'm trying to keep busy having fun and trying to travel a little bit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've graduated from college but not left my traveling on a budget behind me. I love to talk to people who actually live in the places I'm visiting, and love meeting new people.
Interests
I enjoy most outdoor activities, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, backpacking, you name it. I'm also down to try new things if you care to share your favorite hobby. Swing dancing has a special place in my heart as it is the way I banished my second left foot forever, not that you can always tell that by watching me dance but I love it and love to try new dances.

Music, Movies, and Books
Big Band Swing Music, A smattering of Top 40, Light EDM/House, Classical, and Just enough Country to remind myself I grew up in the South.
Interstellar, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Original Star Wars and the New Star Trek
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cycled across the country from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to Mission Beach in San Diego. 28 people, 2.5 months, 3600 miles over mountains through deserts and everything in between. Along the way we worked with Habitat for Humanity building affordable housing in nearly every state we passed through.
I've also driven across the entire US and back in three weeks. 21 days, 25 or so National Parks, 10,000 miles and 0 speeding tickets.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to East Coast Swing Dance, Carolina Shag Dance (not British shagging), and the best way to ride your bike across the country.
I love learning about most things. except 11th grade history...
I can share my love of science and as much about Ecological and Sustainability Engineering as you'll listen to.
