Overview
About Me
hi, my name is Austin!I grew up in Victoria Austalia, in a family of 7, me being the second-oldest child. I'm easy going, i love meeting new and exciting people and love to have fun! I come from a small town in rural victoria, in the wine region of the Yarra Valley, where i work as a chef and live with my friends. I attended school from year 1 until year 10, at which point i left to begin an apprenticeship in cooking, lasting 3 years, which i completed earlier this year (2018). I find passion in life, adventuring with friends and strangers, creating art of flavours and textures and exploring the world meeting new faces and having new experiences. I play drums and percussion, a skill that has taken me to many exciting places around the world and given me the opportunity to teach others, meet so many great people and see so much, which i am truly thankful for. I look forward to the future and to whomever is reading this, i hope our paths cross. peace and love!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i recently completed my culinary training and i am having some time off to do a bit of relaxing, so i planned a trip to Amsterdam (obviously). i find the best thing about travelling is meeting new people, and what better way to do that than this! i'm on a bit of a budget so i'm not going to be staying in hotels or anything like that, and this website kind of makes both of those things possible at the same time

Music, Movies, and Books
i love all kinds of music! my favourite movie would have to be stand by me. although i don't read as much now as i used to, i loved all the harry potter books as a kid and also a series called cherub (by a UK author, i forgot his name)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
in 2016 i went to hawaii, travelling with a group of musicians from the Little Yarra Steiner School and we went to different schools around the island running workshops, teaching young kids to play music.
