HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i have depended so much on the hospitality of friends and friends of friends, and since i've had my own place i've tried to host whoever asks me. so finally i'm going to make an account here to do the same thing, and to make friends in a couple new cities this Spring.

Interests

I study philosophy, but good friends have shown me how lazy I am. Instead of working, I am wholly absorbed in crushes and inner and outer gossip. At times I can't bring myself to study at all, and instead I hitchhike somewhere. Next time this happens, I intend to help my roommate film a Kafka story "Interview with a praying man," in exchange for help filming "Investigations of a dog." She has very good reasons for filming this story. The carefully described gestures of the praying man are absolutely impossible to picture. You must know what I mean if you've read many Kafka stories. "It seemed to me necessary to put him in his place so defiantly I twisted my mouth as I uttered these last syllables." "Twisted my mouth"? what? Or: "Finally he brought his hands together again and clasped them, seeming to desire to give coherence to his body." I want to know what she will tell the actors. or will she even film these literally?

Meanwhile, I have less interesting reasons for wanting to film "Investigations of a dog." Well, it's one of the cheeriest Kafka stories. And I miss my favorite dog. I even miss another dog who isn't my favorite. And so much the more so when the dog in the story is Socrates, who was also so sharply missed, and I can be missing my dog and at the same time filming somehow the way we miss Socrates.

Assuming I'm in one of those moods where I'm going to hitchhike somewhere, this project is also on the table.

i know this doesn't make me seem cool, but: i will teach anybody how to do web programming or help with any kind of cool project. seriously, there ARE really cool things to do with these technologies!
