Hello! My name is Austin and I am from Denver, Colorado in the United States. I am currently on a solo trip in Spain for a total of 4 months. The purpose of this trip is to get my outside of my comfort zone, experience a new culture, and improve my Spanish fluency. I have been an Au Pair in Madrid for the past 3 months but am now traveling around, visiting new sites as my trip finishes up. Although I’m only 18, I’d say I’m more respectful and responsible compared to others in my age group. I can be very shy but as soon as I get comfortable I am very fun to be around. I’m very adaptable as well. This will be my first time Couchsurfing and I’m extremely excited. I hope to meet you soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is the best way to immerse myself into new cultures/ languages. Also to meet new people around the world. One day, when I have my own place, I would like to host Couchsurfers as well.

Music: I like a lot of pop music, both English and Spanish. Lizzo, Ariana Grande, The Kid Laroi, and Rauw Alejandro are some of my favorites

Movies/ shows: I don’t watch a lot of movies or tv shows but some of my favorites are Shark Tank, Mosquito Coast, The Morning Show, Money Heist

Books: I also don’t read a lot but I’m trying to make it a daily habit. Right now I’m reading The Way Things Are by Lama Ole and Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went bungee jumping with strangers in Madrid, Spain. It was one of my proudest moments because I am incredibly scared of heights. They actually had to push me off because I could not jump off myself lol. Although I was stricken with fear at the beginning, as soon as my feet left the prodige, it was the greatest experience ever. Would 100% do it again.
