About Me

Hi! My name is Austin, and I just recently graduated with a degree in Recreational Sports Management. I enjoy being active, whether that is working out, hiking, playing sports, or whatever. Along with this, I love playing board games with friends, watching the latest Marvel movies, and learning new skills! I am currently in the process of learning Spanish, and am hoping to have it at a good enough level that I may know what is going on once I make it Spain for my trek throughout Europe!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After finishing my degree, my wife and I decided we are not ready for full time jobs yet. So, we are off to have an adventure and explore Europe! We will be staying with friends, family, workaway hosts, missionaries, friends of friends, and now Couchsurfing hosts! We are so excited!
We plan to be gone for a year from home, but once we are back, we are planning on hosting our place on couchsurfing as we will want to return the favor from experiencing hosts throughout Europe!

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of the music I listen to currently comes from the 70's or 80's. The music back then is better than about 95% of todays music in my opinion.

As far as movies go, I love watching practically any Marvel film. I also like action/adventure movies like James Bond, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, the Bourne Series, etc. And then who can forget awesome movies like the Lego Movie, Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Rocky, or Princess Bride?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is to go to the Philippines back in 2011. After graduating from high school, I went to the Philippines for 2 months to stay with family friends who I didn't really know at all. I jumped from a 1st world country to a 3rd world country culture in a matter of 24hr. That crazy difference in cultures is what got me interested in traveling more. It really opened my eyes, and helped me see so much more beauty on this earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not exactly sure what I'm supposed to put in this box, but I can juggle a little bit. I can teach you that if you'd like haha.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share what life is like in the USA, and swap stories and experiences about trips and differences between cultures.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Hong Kong, Iceland, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Philippines, United States
