Overview
About Me
I've always been one for adventure. I got my first taste of it at 16, when I bussed across Canada. It never ceased to amaze and humble me the people you meet, and the genuine compassion and kindness they share. And now that I'm travelling the world a bit, I can see it's an almost universal quality in people.
It's that standard that I hold myself to. I give what I have when asked. Love unabashedly, and laugh as often as I can. Make friends of strangers, spread smiles and share stories. My goal is to help others; my methods are the often overlooked small acts of kindness.
Before I was a wanderer, I was a chef. I still delight in cooking for others, and have been known to sing cheesy songs poorly while I do it. I'm a professional amateur--constantly trying my hand at anything I can get my hands on. I love to learn, to grow and change.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe adamantly in compassionate love and kindness. To help others is maybe the greatest thing you could do. But I've learned over the years that accepting help from others is just as important. I'm on Couchsurfing because even with all my exuberance and gusto, I still need a place to lay my head at night. This is my way of asking for help--and a good way of making friends in the process.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music is wide sweeping, and my playlist could have about anything on it. I've got a soundtrack for my life--so what I listen to depends very much on what I'm doing.
I don't think I've got a favorite film. But, I'm definitely an avid reader. Out of all the authors I've read, I think Terry Pratchett has been consistently my favourite.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one? My favorite thing recently was visiting my mother's home town of Whitburn. Through a series of events, I ended up in the Galaday parade--there is no better way of seeing a town than in the middle of a marching band.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach whatever skills I've learned: generally cooking, baking, and how to sit still and breathe.
I love to learn, so I'm always eager to get my mind onto new things.
I share whatever I've got, as a matter of course. Sharing is caring, as my mum would say.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An immutablely positive outlook! I've got a story for everything, and I always delight in telling them. I'm pretty good in the kitchen, being trained in classical French cuisine in college and pan-Asian foods from my unofficially adopted Thai mum. I'm also fairly handy, having worked in home renovations and restorations. Moreover, I've always been pretty helpful--so I'd be more than happy to do help out where I can with what I can.
