My name is Austin, I'm currently a full-time student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as well as a member of Army ROTC and the division 1 varsity track and field team.

I am originally from a small rural town of Geneseo in upstate New York but ever since I was 17 I have moved around a lot. I'm a bit of a nomad and I love going on adventures to new places and meeting new people. Once I finish college I hope to commission as an officer in the Army either as active duty and hopefully get to travel that way, or in the reserves and live a mostly civilian life but with the goal to visit as many places as I can!

I am a very active person with an enormous amount of energy. I love staying fit and exercising as well as finding new avenues to funnel my energy. I am very open to being pushed outside my comfort zone at any opportunity I get and to explore alternative lifestyles from my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To explore new places and to meet new people. What I hope to get from couch surfing is more an experience than a place to sleep for free.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled to Southeast Asia for a summer helping build school houses and teach English to orphans.

I don't think you can put a price on experiences, therefore, I try to live my life in the moment as best as I can and I am always trying to learn and grow as a person from my relationships with people and my experiences. I have recently taken up meditating and although I am new to it, I think it is an amazing way for people to learn about themselves and keep learning about themselves while sorting through the chaos that is life.
