Hey I’m Austin! I’m currently a senior at the University of Akron in Northeast Ohio. I love traveling, getting to know people, and most importantly learning from those people and experiences. I play soccer any chance I can get, but I also pay close attention to other sports such as football, baseball, and basketball. I’d say I’m pretty easy-going and always up for experiencing new things and making great memories!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love seeing new places as well as meeting new people. I’m not too fond of the whole hotel and resort kind of ideal for traveling, as I’d much rather find a cool person to get to know and with whom I can share experiences! I’d like to get out of my comfort zone and seek a little bit of discomfort every once in a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pretty diverse music preference! I like classic rock, new rock, hip-hop, pop, 80s, and even some oldies. I love any good movie, as I think many of us do. The Godfather, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Inception are just a few of my favorites off the top of my head. I also like to read whenever I can. My favorite other is for sure John Steinbeck (J.D. Salinger is probably second) but I’ve been getting into a lot of Tolkien lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took an extended trip out west with my family when I was in 8th grade. We went to places like the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, along with cities such as San Diego, San Fran, LA and Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, and many more. I’m planning to find additional experiences soon!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can speak Spanish fairly well, along with spots of Arabic, Italian and German. I’m also on track to becoming a high school history teacher. I can teach both, history and languages, but I’m always even more willing to learn from others!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can always share stories, experiences, and just a fun time! I’m always down to go out, have a drink, or just relax wherever. I just want to make each day worth remembering.
