ABOUT ME
(2023 update)
Anyone still using this? Screw Covid!!
I bought my own house in 2021 and I’m finally back to Taipei from 2023!!
(2019 update)
Taiwanese vet, working in Shanghai.
I love traveling but I value the people and experience I meet and have during each part of my travel more, and that's why I choose to be a couchsufer.
I hope you to be the same :)
I am not offering free accommodation. I'm more looking forward to sharing my life and trivial details with open-minded people ready for the boundless friendship.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm a college student from Taiwan, studying in National Taiwan University, department of veterinary medicine.I love traveling.
Though I'm a student like other average students, don't have that much money to travel as I wish. To seize the countable traveling chances during the vacations in my college life, I work hard being a tutor during semester period to earn money for travel.
I love this kind of life style and attitude : traveling by myself, no matter in what aspect, economically or physically.
Besides tourist spots , delicious food , beautiful scenery and architecture are also charming to me . For me , the most precious memory I've ever had during my trip all come from people. No matter they are my friends or just people in a shop or even just passing by on the street, every smiling faces or even a disposing look, no matter they are nice or mean, all mean different things in my life and I won't forget them. I think that's why people enjoy traveling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like traveling and I liked to live in luxurious hotels to enjoy their facility and delicious food before.
However, traveling turned boring and routine, and I want to change that, to find my original passion for traveling.
Then I think changing my habits and going out of my comfort zone could be a good start, and that's why I'm here.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Being a surfer:
During 2014/7 to 2014/9, 2 months vet internship in Japan, besides my intern life, when I traveled alone, I lived in 4 hosts' places.
It was the most interesting experience in my travel life. Besides living, I also had fun with my hosts even with their friends. That's the feeling of breaking the barrier between language and culture. And they also helped me a lot when I got lost in the city all the time :P
I think I'll keep traveling in this way, and I hope that I can also be a host as friendly as the hosts I met.
Being a host:
After I came back from my first CS trip in Japan for 2 months, I can totally realized how it felt that being helped by a stranger when you felt helpless in an unfamiliar country , how warm it is that someone you don't even see each other in person before is willing to host you in his/her home, sharing lifestyle and experience and even inviting his/her friends to join, but charing nothing.
I'm very appreciated for what couchsurfing gave me and changing my routine traveling, and also appreciated for each single person who hosted me and helped me during my trip. And I also wanna be that kind of people who can give what you have not just taking from others. Therefore, I start being a host in my hometown, Taipei.
Share my travel, share my life : )
