Overview
About Me
I am an artistic, outdoors-loving, non-smoker, non-drinker, who loves to take photographs and notes about delicious foods, amazing architecture, and epic landscapes. I'm also a former Marine who runs Spartan races and marathons, writes novels, and likes to stargaze.
I believe that every nation and person has a lot to offer. I don't judge or shy away from differences. I think that the destination can be the journey itself, and that the people we meet are what matters, rather than just going on a trip to see a new locale. I believe we can and will continue to find ways of living in perfect harmony with both our technology and nature.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
to meet and make new friends, and stay within a responsible budget so I can orient more to each place I visit
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hang out in each nation for a few weeks to a few months, couch-surfing for a portion of that time when I'm not exploring and taking photos and notes of anything awe-inspiring to improve my city design. Once I have my own sustainable home and community built, I'll open it for couchsurfing, too.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couch-surfed in all 50 of the U.S. states, and will be adding another 50 countries in the weeks ahead
Interests
I love travel, learning from people around the world, trying new languages, exploring, visiting castles, sampling high-technology, camping, hiking, climbing, etc. I'm really curious about ancient ruins, especially megalithic ones. Couchsurfing near them would be wonderful.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love most types of music, especially classical and metal.
Favorite movies include Thor and some of the Star Trek and Star Wars ones.
I have thousands of books listed on Goodreads, and haven't really thought of a favorite yet, though the cross-section / cutaways are great.
I'm open to recommendations!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
These first few things come to mind: seeing the view from atop High Dune of the Great Sand Dunes National Park, seeing the 4th of July fireworks from multiple cities simultaneously because I was above them all in an airplane flying up into the night sky, bungee jumping in Vegas, paragliding off the beach cliffs of Peru, enjoying the hot springs near Mt. Fuji, swimming some of the rapids of the Grand Canyon, studying and preparing for Antarctic expeditions, and designing (then writing a series of novels about, and starting the work on an MMORPG about) a zero-pollution city using all of the inventions I've found and been amazed by over the years.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach a variety of subjects to both individuals and groups; I'm familiar and experienced with agriculture, construction, holistic healthcare, irrigation, landscaping, high technology, and many other things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
endless stories, legends, jokes, photographs, videos, notes, and theories, and I am happy to help with cleaning, cooking, and carrying stuff
