About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding foreign faces in familiar places.

ABOUT ME

I'm a curious person, excited about making new connections in far away places. I can be a chatterbox or a wallflower, and it usually depends on how much sleep I've had. Get me talking about linguistics or the neuroscience of safety and connection and I may never shut up.
I'm pretty low key and flexible. I mostly avoid tourist traps and I enjoy finding the local hangs instead.

PHILOSOPHY

Go with the flow, pay attention to the world around me, and communicate!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I've had minimal experience with Couchsurfing but I can't wait to keep exploring. Hopefully someday I'll be in a position to give back and host a bit, but for now I'm totally down to show travelers around my hometown and grab some tea or coffee and chat! Or maybe my dog and I could take you for a hike in the Columbia Gorge!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My limited CS experience has been wonderful. The hosts I've stayed with and everyone I've met thanks to this community have been really solid, wonderful people. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and making new memories! I met a number of brilliant people while exploring Paris, France for 5 months and had a wonderful trip to Dublin, Ireland that wouldn't have been quite so wonderful had it not been for my lovely hosts and their lovely friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

So much music! Odessa. Odesza. First Aid Kit. Tokyo Police Club. Mumford & Sons. Louis Armstrong. Paul Simon. La Roux. Ella Fitzgerald. Billie Holiday. The Beatles. Beirut. Phoenix. Macklemore. Two Door Cinema Club. Kid Cudi. Florence & the Machine. Daniela Andrade. Laura Marling. Mat Kearney. London Grammar. Stromae. And many more... I'm always looking for new music.

Amélie. Pacific Rim. The Intouchables. The Princess Bride. Young Frankenstein. Serenity. Superhero movies. Le Roi de Coeur.

I read a lot. Too much to list. Favorite authors: Isabel Allende! Rebecca Solnit. Ernest Hemingway. L.A. Meyer. John Green. Game of Thrones. Neil Gaiman... and the list goes on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dove into a glacially cold pool of water by a waterfall. First to get in, last to get out!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love exploring the world through food, and would love to find others to enjoy it with! Cooking, exploring markets, sampling!
I'm a self taught guitarist who would appreciate more knowledge of the instrument.
I don't have much to teach, that I can think of, but I love helping people to learn when I'm able. Any one looking to practice english?
