About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bring sunshine, joy and encouragement to the world. :)

ABOUT ME

An friendly, kind, happy-go-lucky citizen of the world with a healthy dose of silliness, I love to travel "like a local" and support others doing the same. I just moved back to my home state of Texas a year ago. The Texas hill country is, to me, the most beautiful and unique area of the US. I love meeting and hosting new people. It is a great way to get to know good people from around the world and make lasting friendships.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone has an interesting story, a unique point of view. One of the most worthwhile thing you can do in life is take the time to be present with someone else. These days it is easy to get caught up in the fast-paced philosophy of "doing", but what I treasure most are the moments when time slows down and doing nothing is the most important item on the agenda. There are endless ways to do this in the Texas hill country and I have the inside scoop on some local faves.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For years, while living in Santa Monica, CA, I hosted couchsurfers from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Italy, Germany and England. I've enjoyed getting to know everyone and am looking forward to more experiences in the future in my homestate of Texas.

Interests

Exploring, listening to live music or karaoke in our living room, visiting natural places and small (off the map) "gems", finding interesting quirky stores, reading, good conversation, hearing stories, experiencing new things, art (viewing & creating).

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes are pretty eclectic but some favorites are Jack Johnson (music), Three Cups of Tea (books), and The Fall (movies).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have had a home-cooked feast in a rainforest in the middle of Saint Martin with a group of friends while being serenaded by Banky Banks (a local legend), have been invited to join some of the best singers, hula dancers and fire-dancers on a beautiful evening in Kauai when I stumbled upon their family gathering (luau). There have been so many amazing moments - I wholehearted believe that if you leave room for the unexpected life will always surprise you.
