ABOUT ME
I like sports: I've played basketball since I was very small and hope to one day coach as well. It might sound lame, but I think there is something beautiful about that sport. I should probably be ashamed at how emotionally invested I get regarding sports, but I'm not.
I like food: I realized that most of my close friends share an appreciation for food and this appreciation (along with other aspects, of course) brings us closer together. Sometimes I'm in the mood for quality, other times quantity. Either way, I'm always in the mood for pancakes.
I like music: I started playing drums about 7 years ago but I wouldn't consider myself a drummer with 7 years experiece. In that time there have been ups and downs--periods when I play everyday and other times when I don't play for more than a year or so.
I like spontaneity: For example, one time I rode/drove about 30 hours in a car (from St Louis to Los Angeles) with a girl I had met the day before. It was fun... In general I'm pretty laid back and open to trying new things.
PHILOSOPHY
As Christians, my wife and I's personal philosophy is pretty simple: Live like Jesus did--showing humility, compassion, and loving people regardless of who they are/were.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've only surfed and have yet to host. But my wife and I just bought a house! We will be moving i after our summer tirp. We're looking forward to experiencing the hosting side of Couchsurfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met some great couchsurfers in my limited travels.
Playing Werewolves with a group of CSers in Oxford was particularly fun but I'm a bad liar... "I promise I'm not a villager... I mean, not a werewolf." Busted.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Shawshank Redemption--I think everyone should see this movie. Its, well, redemptive.
"Get busy living or get busy dying."
Liar, Liar--Possibly my favorite comedy. Classic Jim Carrey. I'm probably annoying to watch this movie with because I'll qoute every line.
"The pen is blue. The pen is blue! The goddam pen is blueee!!
Also, the Bourne Trilogy is incredible.
My musical taste is pretty wide ranging: from Coldplay to Trans-Siberian Orchestra, from Lil Wayne to Marc Broussard. That said, Needtobreathe is one of my favorite bands. Check em out.
As far as books go, I don't read much. But it's my new year's resolution to change that. Any suggestions for me? I have read a couple of David Baldacci's novels and they're great.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One moment in traveling I'll never forget was when I, for a brief moment, played drums in a Peruvian parade. It was incredible!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to play basketball, or play drums, or do algebra (yes, I like math)
But I'd most like to teach you to cook pancakes. I can do American, English, and Dutch styles now.
