About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To have my business run without me on a day-to-day basis so I can spend more time traveling.
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised outside of Boston but moved to Austin in 2004 to get away from cold and snow (and because Austin is fabulous.) I look like a librarian or attorney (I'm neither) and I'm pretty darn square (clean living) but I ask probing questions, love Howard Stern and like honest, open communication. I love to travel, see movies, do NY Times crossword puzzles, read and hang out by water. I'm passionate about healthy eating and I'm vegan.
PHILOSOPHY
Being honest, open and sincere. Working on myself to be happier and love others more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a number of people and stayed at several homes around the US.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I think Couchsurfing is fabulous! On one weeklong road trip, I stayed with 3 different people/families in 3 cities and had the best time. It's amazing how welcoming, open and accommodating people can be to strangers! Staying in people's homes vs. hotels makes all the difference in the world, in terms of feeling connected to a place as well as feeling connected to people, of course.
Interests
Reading (especially books about nutrition, environment, business, other non-fiction), solving New York Times crossword puzzles, seeing movies, cooking healthy food, running, yoga, fitness, lounging by pools, and traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I love 80s music, cajun and zydeco, country roots, and some musicals.
Movies - Lordy, where do I begin?!? Other than horror, I like a fine version of any genre.
Books - Eat to Live, Happiness Is a Choice, The Total Money Makeover, Beloved, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Eat and Run, and on and on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent 5 1/2 weeks traveling across the United States by car, alone. I loved the sheer freedom to determine my schedule and my path, and I saw amazing things, to boot.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help people learn about healthy eating, and even get them started on making the switch. I can also teach how to solve NY Times crossword puzzles - I've done a presentation on this at Nerd Nite Austin. ;-) If you're a runner, I can hook you up with free and friendly running groups during your stay.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A listening ear for stories; a very cool dialogue tool to help people look at their issues; cooking healthy vegan food.
