About Me
Hi! I'm a lover of all things ocean and I'm passionate about conservation and marine biology. I've had an eclectic work background, from managing a coffee shop, to working at a zoo for five years, to working offshore on a boat for months at a time, and now I'm working in the Health, Safety, and Environment realm.
Right now I'm living in the lovely Seattle and I adore it! Having grown up in the sweltering heat of Phoenix, Arizona it's quite a needed change!
My dream is to live in a tiny house community with like-minded, communal people. I'm hoping to do a bit of world traveling, probably live in New Zealand for six months, then coming back and buying an old school bus to renovate.
In my spare time I love to hike, rock climb, and frolic. I also love meeting good people. I find that couch surfers are good people :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting new people and making meaningful connections with like minded humans! The best way to discover a new city is from those who know it best!
Much like most of my fellow biologists, doing what you love doesn't pay well. It's the sacrifice we make to follow our passions.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite band will always be The Beatles. I also listen to a lot of indie rock and indie pop; Mumford, Cloud Cult, Wild Child, Grouplove, Brandi Carlile, Florence, Elephant Revival, Sylvan Esso, Humming House, etc. I'm also a pretty regular Disney singer. I'll bust out in a rendition of Hakuna Matata like it's nobody's business.
My favorite books include Illusions of a Reluctant Messiah, Man's Search for Meaning, Life of Pi, House of Leaves, The Kin of Ata are Waiting for You. I'm currently reading The Prophet, which was a gift from a previous Couchsurfer friend.
I love the movie Galaxy Quest. I can't help it.
