Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Roadtrip to the West Coast. I have been to all parts of the country except the West Coast--shocking, I know!

ABOUT ME

"The law is simple. Every experience is repeated or suffered till you experience it properly and fully the first time."
--Ben Okri

I spent the first 9 years of my life in FuZhou, FuJian, China, spent the subsequent few years of my adolescence in NYC, then my family moved to the 4th coldest state in the U.S. (Minnesota!)...About a year ago, I decided to just pack up and drive to the east coast. Now, I live in the D.C. metro area! Everyday is an adventure.

I'm active, social, environmentally conscious, considerate, happy/smiley, adaptable/flexible (it's seems to be a general personality trait shown amongst travelers), adventurous, quirky, likes to carry deep conversations and get to know people beyond the surface level, I'm passionate about human rights&social equality, enjoy cooking/making sushi/dark chocolate/coffee/tea, inquisitive, spontaneous outlook on life, artistic, love love love going to live Indie concerts, enjoy ice skating, yoga, soccer, camping/hiking/biking/backpacking, anything "outdoorzy" really, get excited easily over new ideas/projects, geek about social sciences and the humanities (will like to be a Psychology professor one day), likes to paint + do photography + make functional art (make billfolds from newspapers, collect wine bottles to build a bookshelf, make lampshades out of old maps, use old tennis rackets to display my earrings...)I'm in the process of trying to do more artings to get additional income so I can splurge on more travel expenses.I try to visit at least 1 new city every month.
City for June 2013: Montreal
Cities for July 2013: Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Fran, and other cities along the way

I'm open minded and adventurous when it comes to trying out something new...

PHILOSOPHY

"If you're really a mean person you're going to come back as a fly and eat poop." So Treat others the way you want to be treated.

"Karma comes after everyone eventually. You can't get away with screwing people over your whole life, I don't care who you are. What goes around comes around."

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can potentially host and would like to surf and meet locals in my destination cities!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Yes, hosted someone from Montreal and later couchsurfed in Montreal. Met up and traveled with several people from couchsurfing...

I'm still a toddler to couchsurfing...still trying to figure out how this works...if you have any tips/advice, send them my way :) Thx

Intereses

Biking, art: photography, painting, drawing, card making, finding new music, campfires, attending concerts of bands that I have never heard of, always try to find excuses to do something (!), likes to play music pieces on my guitar (although I'm awful at it...but I'm getting there), people's amazing journey and stories on failures and victories in life, growing plants/my own garden (well, I try my best), watching people people-watching, my curiosity in how people become the way the are today (personality psychology, cultural psychology, human perception, etc.), colors inspires me, beauty inspires me, Human courage and strength inspires me to live my life to help others and myself...

Algo increíble que he hecho

1. 10+ hours of driving from Washington D.C. to Montreal this past June...Along the way, my friends and I visited Bannerman Castle,Ausable Chasm, and Grand Isle State Park. It was a fantastic road trip!

2. The water fall at Harper's Ferry WV. When I saw the waterfall, there was only one reaction. Jump in and get wet! The cold water felt so good. The pressure of the water falling on my skin felt like massages that can only be found in heaven
